Free Speech for Me, Censorship for Thee. All while the Big Techs platformed Trump’s election lies and his own racist conspiracy theories. The U.S. howls about ‘freedom’ as it bombs dissent abroad and jails whistleblowers at home. Fascists get megaphones; activists get handcuffs. Their ‘free speech’ is a chainsaw, meant to cut throats, not open mouths.
How Musk, Trump, and Big Tech Weaponize Lies
Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter was never about free speech — it was a $44 billion ego trip to reshape reality. Under his “absolutism,” anti-fascist accounts vanish overnight, while white supremacists and antivaxx grifters buy blue checks to flood feeds with hate. Musk himself fuels far-right panic, pushing “Great Replacement” conspiracies and platforming genocidal lies about Gaza. His “town square” is a cesspool where disinformation pays rent, and dissent gets evicted. This is Silicon Valley’s freedom: a marketplace where the highest bidder owns the truth.
The U.S. government is no better. It sanctifies “free speech” while coordinating with Big Tech to silence Palestine solidarity, Black Lives Matter, and labor organizers. Julian Assange rots in prison for exposing war crimes, but Trump — who incited a coup with 30,000 documented lies — gets CNN airtime and Truth Social to rally his cult. The game is rigged: speech is “free” only if it props up power. Challenge the empire, and you’re a “threat”; lick its boots, and you’re a “patriot.”
Donald Trump is the ultimate byproduct of this rot — a conman who weaponizes stupidity. His Big Lie about 2020 wasn’t just a tantrum; it was a beta test for fascism. By flooding the zone with shit, he turns facts into folklore and violence into “patriotism.” The Jan. 6 insurrection proved lies kill, but Musk and Meta still profit from his firehose of hate. Together, they’ve built a world where algorithms radicalize boomers into QAnon zealots and teens into Nazi edgelords — all while the U.S. funds genocide abroad and calls it “democracy promotion.”
This isn’t hypocrisy. It’s ideological colonialism. The U.S. and its tech oligarchs export “freedom” like British imperialists exported Jesus — at gunpoint, for profit. They’ll coup Bolivia for lithium, sanction Venezuela for oil, and censor TikTok to hide Palestinian screams. Meanwhile, Musk pays to colonize Mars to dodge Earth’s climate collapse, and Trump promises to “drill, baby, drill” while Florida drowns.
We must gut this system like the French gutted aristocrats. Seize the platforms. Smash Zuckerberg’s servers. Turn Twitter/X into a public square run by users, not a megalomaniac. Jail Trump not for his lies, but for his crimes — then dismantle the laws that let billionaires buy judges. The revolution isn’t viral — it’s vandalism. Tear down their statues, hijack their algorithms, and let the guillotine memes flow. Free speech dies when monopolies own the mic. We either take it back — or choke on their lies forever.
